Fred Mcentire

Moneta, VA – Fred Lee McEntire, 76 of Moneta, Virginia died peacefully at home on February 21, 2018. Fred was born October 5, 1941 in Bruno, Arkansas to Harvey and Mildred McEntire.  He was married 47 years to his loving wife Barbara McEntire.  He raised his family in La Habra, CA before retiring to St. George, UT, later relocating to Moneta, VA.

Fred was an Air-Force veteran and a loving Husband, Father and Grandfather.  He was a strong and caring man, always willing to help others.  He had a quiet sense of humor best appreciated by those who were close to him.  He will truly be missed.

He is survived by his wife Barbara McEntire, Children Bill Ennis, Lake Isabella, CA; Jimmy Ennis, LaVerkin, UT; Ryan McEntire, Lynchburg, VA; 5 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.  He is also survived by 3 siblings, Joe McEntire, Caldwell, ID; Lois Smith, Yakima, WA; and Sue Niedhardt, Grand Junction, CO.  He was predeceased by his sibling Joyce Vaughn, Yakima, WA.

A private funeral service will be held for the family at Tharp Funeral Home in Bedford, VA.  A reception will be held at the residence of Barbara McEntire on Sunday from 4:00 until 6:00pm. Tharp Funeral Home & Crematory Bedford is assisting the family.
