Frederick E. Casper

Frederick Ernest Casper, Sr. 83, of Moneta, passed away Friday, August 2, 2013 at his residence.

He was the loving husband of 59 years to Mary Anna (Schatz) Zimmermann Casper.

 Born December 5, 1929 in New Haven, Conn, he was a son of the late Frederick R. Casper and Paula C. Schmidt Casper. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict where he was awarded the Purple Heart, 5 Bronze Stars and the Korean service medal. He retired from The American Broadcasting Co. with ABC Sports, and was a member of Bethlehem United Methodist Church.

 Fred is also survived by his daughters, Paula Mary Casper Glicini and husband, Robert, Susan Pamela Casper Andrews and husband, Craig; sons, Frederick Ernest Casper, Jr. and wife, Virginia, James Erich Casper, and wife, Judy; grandchildren, David Glicini and fiancé, Jane Teeple, Diana, Michael, and Matthew Glicini, Lauren Happle and husband, Tom, Melissa Andrews, Caroline Miterko and husband, Joseph, Karyn, Ashley, Frederick Casper, III. Alexander and Anna Casper; great-grandchildren, McKenzie, Logan, and Alyssa Happle; sister, Shirley Hudson; a number of nieces and nephews and very special friends.

 A funeral service will be held Tuesday, August 6, 2013 at Bethlehem United Methodist Church in Moneta at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. David Lord officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

 Interment will take place Thursday, August 8, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. David Lord officiating, in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery in Annville, PA.
