Albert Earl Bernas
Albert Earl Bernas, 94, of Lynchburg, passed away Saturday, March 11, 2023. He was the husband of the late Betty Snyder Bernas.
Albert was born on December 19, 1928, in Latrobe, Pennsylvania, a son of the late Albert John Bernas and Mildred Suczinski Bernas. Albert honorably served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II and was retired as a Pharmacist with Lynchburg General Hospital. He was also a former member of Westminster Presbyterian Church.
He is survived by his three sons: Mark Bernas of Chester, Jeffrey Bernas of Mechanicsville, and Brian Bernas of Clemmons, N.C., one daughter, Debra Lee Bernas of Danville; five grandchildren: Taylor, Michelle, Jacob, Savannah, and Melissza.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by one granddaughter Abbie, two brothers, Frederick and Louis Bernas, and one sister Evelyn Fulcomer.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Friday, March 17, 2023, at Tharp Funeral Home Lynchburg. A Celebration of Albert’s Life will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 18, 2023, in the chapel of Tharp Funeral Home Lynchburg with Chaplain Wayne Lanham officiating. Interment will follow at Fort Hill Memorial Park.
