She was born on August 15, 1957, to the late Isaac “Junior” Payne and Mildred Davis Payne. Alfreda leaves to cherish and rejoice her memory, her son, John David Isaac “Bug” Ashley, Sr. who she loved and he loved his Mama beyond measure; grandchildren, John David Isaac Ashley, Jr., and Raè John David Ashley, who both loved their grandmother unconditionally; sister (and look-a-like), Charlene Pannell will forever miss everything about her sister; also devoted and protective, nieces and nephews who will always and forever be there for “Bug” and “grandkids”; aunts; Gracie A. Sadler, Virgie P. Jones. Virginia Davis and Joyce Barnette; many devoted, dedicated and loyal friends that were apart of our family. We all appreciate and love you dearly.

Such a loss is hard to deal with and understand. She meant so much to so many. She always had a smile and laugh to brighten any room. She loved her family so much. Yet she is resting now waiting on that beautiful promise that Jehovah God can only make and thats the hope of the resurrection. What a glorious day it will be for her to run to Pooh and run to John and run to all the family members and friends , hugging and tears of joy to be reunited and never have to say goodbye ever again. Yes Freda loved Jehovah so much and firmly believed in his promises ❤. One thing she said to me a few months ago is the she wants to see all her family, friends and everyone she met to be there in Paradise serving Jehovah with her. She prayed that this hope would be real to others as it was to her too. She will be missed so much. Condolences to everyone and we look forward to seeing her again.
