The family will receive friends from 5:00 - 6:00 PM ET on Thursday, May 5, 2022, at St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Lynchburg, VA. The funeral mass will begin at 6:00 PM ET with a reception and meal immediately following.
Anne Mueller Nilles
Anne Mueller Nilles, 64, of Lynchburg, VA was called home to be with Christ, the Risen Lord, on Saturday, April 30, 2022, surrounded by her loving family. Cherished wife of Michael Nilles, to whom she was married for 43 years.
Born in Aurora, Illinois, on November 12, 1957, Anne was the daughter of the late Eldred and Mildred Mueller.
She was a woman of faith, family and service to others.
Anne is survived by her husband, and their four loving children – Christine Anemaet (Nate), Matthew Nilles (Ester), Brian Nilles (Tiffany), Sarah Darmofal (TJ) as well as her parents-in-law Clarence Nilles (Donna), ten grandchildren, seven siblings, and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 6:00 PM ET on Thursday, May 5, 2022, at St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Lynchburg, VA. The funeral mass will begin at 6:00 PM ET with a reception and meal immediately following.
In lieu of flowers, Anne had requested that donations be considered for the St. Thomas More Aid fund, a ministry that Anne led for over 15 years which focuses on providing food, diapers, clothing and other essential items to those most in need in the local community.
The family would like to thank all of those involved with her care during a short and intense battle with cancer, including many friends, UVA Colorectal Surgery Center, Lynchburg General 4 East Oncology Floor, Lynchburg Hematology & Oncology Center and Centra Hospice.
Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg is assisting the family.

Sorry we lost contact with Mike and Anne since our wedding almost 42 years ago. We have missed you and it will leave a hole in our heart not to be with you again. Prayers from Aurora

Praying for you guys… Ann was so kind and compassionate. When I help in more aid she was so kind to me. Her love for Jesus was explosive and all she did for the community priceless……. 🙏🔥 a great loss for all of us….

In a way, Anne felt like a second mother to me, even though I only knew her for a few years. Her love for God, husband, family, children, and grandchildren was so evident! I am so thankful I was able to know her and see her love for those around her, myself included! What an amazing woman who will not be forgotten. I am praying for you all, Nilles family.

Please know that you are in our families prayers. I feel fortunate and blessed to have known Ann and worked with her for many years, she was a wonderful person. She was always willing to go the extra mile and serve other people. I have great memories from the FIRE group! Even though we have lost daily contact since I moved I so enjoyed keeping in touch over Facebook! I wish I could be with you all to celebrate this amazing woman and mother! Feel hugged from the other Morris’.

There aren’t enough words to describe the loss of this amazing woman and friend. Anne and I became friends many years ago when our children were young and we lived across the field from one another. In all of the many moves we have made over the years, I still considered her one of my dearest friends. Our love and prayers go to her precious family and friends. I know she is watching over all of you and has been welcomed in loving arms by her Savior.
