Ashley B. Scortia

August 28, 1977 - August 4, 2023

Ashley Scortia, age 45, went home to be with the lord on August 4, 2023.  Ashley was a loving sister, mom, wife, aunt, and friend, who is deeply missed by all who had the honor and privilege of knowing her. Ashley was preceded in death by her mother, Pamela Ringgold Beckner.

Ashley graduated from Franklin County High School. She went on to attend Longwood University and the Medical College of Virginia, dedicating her life’s work to helping children with disabilities as a talented Occupational Therapist. She loved spending time in the Virginia Blue Ridge Mountains, where she grew up, and relaxing on the beautiful beaches of Florida. While one of her passions in life was helping people, especially kids, her main passion was raising her two boys.  They were second to none to her and she loved them dearly. Ashley also enjoyed interior decorating with a great eye and impeccable taste.  Her dream was to work side-by-side with her husband on home remodeling and flipping projects and was seeking to pursue her own business in this field.

She is survived by her loving husband, Scot, her two sons, Grayson and Bridges, her father, Mike Beckner, her sister, Barbara Spradlin, nephews Alex and Evan, Mother-in-law, Sue Miller, Father-in-law, George Scortia and his wife, Jan and her two canine companions, Biscuit and Bandit.

In lieu of flowers the family is asking for donations to be sent to Smith Mountain Lake Christian Academy (SMLCA), 1449 Hendricks Store Rd., Moneta, VA 24121.

A Memorial service and celebration of Ashley’s life will be conducted at 4:00pm on Tuesday, August 8, 2023, at Eastlake Community Church, 1201 Timberwood Lane, Moneta VA. The family will receive friends for fellowship following the service also at the church. To send condolences online please visit tharpfuneralhome.com. Not only was Ashley a friend but the best sister-in-law I could have asked for. She will be sorely missed. We will do our best to make sure her memory stays alive for the boys. I'm heartbroken for everyone who loves her.

She was true to the core, always saying exactly what she thought. One of my dearest friends and I will miss her stubborn, no nonsense, straight to the point personality. I will cherish our memories together, as I was blessed to share each and every one. I love you girlfriend.
