Barbara Ann Martin

Barbara Ann Martin, 64, of Lynchburg, Virginia, departed us on Wednesday, November 9, 2022, at Lynchburg General Hospital.

Born February 6, 1958, in Appomattox, Virginia, she was the daughter of Clayton Calvin Martin  and Margret Mosley Stanley. Ms. Martin will forever be remembered as someone who loved her family and always shared encouraging words, her favorite quote was “it has to get worse before it gets better”.

Ms. Martin is survived by her mother, Margaret L. Stanley (Eric); sons, Curtis Martin (Tijuana) and Clarence Mosby (Vinzella); daughter, April Mosby; longtime boyfriends of twelve years, Walter Alexander; seven grandbabies, Malia, Destiny, Talonita, Damonte, Sa’veah, Alwan, and Clarence III; five brothers, Daniel Martin (Keisha), Phillip Martin (Carolyn), Samuel Martin (Sheila), George Martin (Miranda), and Clayton Calvin Martin, Jr.; three sisters, Velma Tucker (Kenny), Sylvia Lewis (Sanford), and Carolyn Martin (Joe). Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.

She was preceded in death by her farther, Clayton Calvin Martin; sister, Mable L. Moseley; and nephew, Timothy O. Martin (Gail).

The family will receive friends on Monday, November 14, 2022, from 5:00 -7:00 pm at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg. A memorial service will be held in the chapel of Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg on Tuesday, November 15, 2022, at 3:00 pm.
