Barbara Anne Dawson, 85, of Madison Heights passed away Sunday, July 16, 2023 at her residence. She was the wife of the late George Dawson.

Born in Amherst County on March 3, 1938 she was a daughter of the late Raymond Ogden, Sr. and Ruby Ogden. She was a retired clerk with Campbell County Health Department.

In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Brandy Workman; and a son-in-law, Doug Walton.

She is survived by her daughters, Judy Brown and husband Wilfred, Jr., Tewonia Ranson and husband Mike both of Madison Heights, Georgianne Walton of Big Island, and Beth Hall and husband Scooter of Lynchburg; 9 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and 2 great, great-grandchildren.

There will be no services at this time.

Tharp Funeral Home & Crematory, Madison Heights, is assisting the family.

I spent many a day at Barbara and George’s when I was young and have many fond memories . I know that you all will miss your mom greatly and I will keep you all in my prayers. I hope all your memories and God’s love will comfort you all. My deepest sympathy.
