C. Haden Mitchell, Sr.

August 11, 1937 - February 9, 2023

C. Haden Mitchell Sr., 85, of Evington, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, February 9, 2023, after a long battle with cancer.

He was a veteran of the Korean War serving in the U.S. Army. Haden retired from General Electric.

Surviving are his wife of 65 years, Erna Mitchell; sons and daughter-in-law, Charles Haden Mitchell Jr., John Allen and Jane Mitchell; daughters and son-in-law, Susie Ann and Barney Riddle, Sarah Mathilde Mitchell and Sheila Gail Allen; five grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, four step great-grandchildren; and brother, Melvin A. Mitchell Jr.

A memorial service will be held 3 p.m. at Tharp Lynchburg Chapel on Tuesday, February 14, 2023. Visitation will be one hour prior.

In lieu of flowers Memorials may be made to theĀ Alzheimer’s Association. Tharp Funeral Home & Crematory, Lynchburg, is assisting the family.
