Delores Davis Moody

Delores “Delo” Davis Moody peacefully transitioned to be with the Lord on Friday, September 8, 2023, after fighting a courageous battle with heart disease.

Delores was born March 27, 1952, to the late William Richard Davis and Mildred E. Davis. She accepted Christ at an early age and joined Mt. Olive Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her late husband Franklin D. Moody and her sister Mary S. Davis.

She leaves to cherish her memories 3 children, Nicole Moody-Luther (Seneca), Tia Smith (Jermaine), and Eric D. Moody; 2 sisters, Marie Davis-Woodson (Burnell), Lorraine Meade (Ronald); and a stepdaughter De’anna Kyle. She also leaves 7 grandchildren, Jae’lyn, Jamaya, Shayla, Arin, Dominique, Sherman, Amber; 5 great-grandchildren; a great-great grandchild; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, September 14, 2023 at 11:30 a.m. at Mount Olive Baptist Church, 160 West Court Street, Amherst Va. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
