Donald Elton Hatcher

Donald Elton Hatcher, of Bedford departed this life suddenly on the evening of Wednesday, April 5, 2023. Donald was born in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico on September 2, 1959, to a military family. Above all Donald loved God and was thankful for and enjoyed his bounty. Donald also loved to travel, having seen all 50 states and nine different countries in his lifetime. He loved life, family and friends and will be sorely missed by many, especially by his one true love DeeDee and his dog buddy Henry. 

Donald held a Master Certificate in Supply Chain Management & Procurement from the Michigan State University, Executive Development Program at the Eli Broad College of Business and was proud to be an employee of Witt Mechanical Inc. 

He is preceded in death by his father Lewis Hatcher, Jr, and his grandparents. He is survived by his mother, Christine Bryant, his brother Roger and his wife, Barbara, and brother Charlie, and his wife, Carolyn. He is also survived by several his nieces, nephews, uncles, aunt, cousins, and many, many friends. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to

6524 Big Island Hwy, Bedford, VA 24523, or a charity of your choice.  A memorial service to celebrate the life of Donald Hatcher will be held on Thursday, April 13, 2023, 1 PM at Otterville United Methodist Church. Tharp Funeral Home & Crematory, Bedford is assisting the family.
