Donna Staton Hargis, 70, of Lynchburg passed away Sunday, June 13, 2021. She was the loving wife of James Edward Hargis.

Donna was born May 1, 1951, in Lynchburg, a daughter of the late Larnie G. Staton and Frances Staton Cutshall.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her three daughters: Joanne Witt Robinson (Mike) of Madison Heights, Christy Hargis of Madison Heights, and Mindy Hargis (Roger) of Lynchburg; six grandchildren: Nichole Robinson, Austin Robinson (Jessica), Tyler Hargis, Christian Harris, Sadie Newcomb, and Cameron Jennings, one great-grandson Brantley Layne; five siblings, Debbie Hughes, Gerald Staton (Kelly), Dolores Blackstock (Steve); Teresa Booker (Mike); and Gayle Tomlin (Fred); one sister-in-law Joyce Parrish; her lifelong friend Deborah Peters, and numerous nieces and nephews, whom she loved dearly.

The family would like to thank all the many special friends for their loving care throughout the years, Donna loved them all.

A graveside service for Donna will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 17, 2021, at Virginia Memorial Park with Pastor Duane Gregory officiating.

 Tharp Funeral Home & Crematory, Lynchburg, is assisting the family.

Eddie and girls our heart goes out to you all and may God comfort you and your family during this time. Many fond memories of laughter, and fun times spent with you all. I cherish all of them. She is at peace and no pain. She was a trooper. Love you all.

Eddie,Joanne,Christy and Mindy my thoughts and prayers are with you I have prayed for all of you daily since your mom and I worked together.
