Edward D. Moore, 92, died Wednesday, November 10, 2021.  He was the husband of Margaret Nash Moore for 60 years.

Edward was born on October 11,1929, a son of the late Asa and Myrtle Moore.

He served our country in the US Navy, was an avid outdoorsman, loved his family, devoted to his wife, and had a deep faith in God.

Edward is survived by his daughters Mitzi (Gordon) Halleck and Gail (Tom) McGowan; a son Kevin (Kim) Eldridge; grandchildren: Kara Wardell, Thomas McGowan, Jr., Zachary Halleck, Emily McGowan, and Treavor Halleck; great-grandchildren, Aria, Kylar; Carter, Davis, and Greyson.

In addition to his wife and parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, Carlton Moore, and sisters, Katherine Kidd, Marie Cyrus, and Helen Bailey.

A Celebration of Edward’s life will be held in the Chapel of Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg, on Saturday, November 13, 2021, at 11:00 AM.   The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

Memorial contributions may be made to Gideons International in honor of Edward.

Tharp Funeral Home & Crematory, Lynchburg, is assisting the family.

Mitzi, Gail, Kevin and families, So sorry for your loss. Loved Ed and Margaret. I know y’all will miss him but take comfort in knowing he is strolling across Heaven with his beloved Margaret. And he not suffering anymore. Will keep you in our thoughts and prayers.

Mitzi, Gail & Families, So sorry to read of your dad's passing. May God grant each of you peace and comfort during this difficult time.
