Ellis Stanley Martz
Ellis Stanley Martz, 84, of Lynchburg, VA, died Thursday, January 5, 2023. He was the husband of Shirley Eileen Denny Martz for 63 years.
Born Tuesday, August 23, 1938, in New Bethlehem, PA, Ellis was a son of (the late) Stanley C. Martz and Mary Margaret Reitz Martz.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Brian Lee Martz, a daughter, Deborah Lynn Dawson and her husband, Mark, five grandchildren, Hailea Reanna Martz, Lindsey Nicole Martz, Piper Ashton Martz, Elizabeth Danielle Dawson, Andrew Tyler Dawson, and a brother, Milton Lee Martz,
Ellis was member of Timberlake United Methodist Church for over 50 years and served the church as a trustee. He was a very hard-working man, who enjoyed designs and completion of projects. He was hard on family and friends. He wanted things done right. Ellis served the area for 28 years as a member of the Campbell County Rescue Squad. He was also a member of Eubank Masonic Lodge and served his country as a medic in the U.S. Army.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 am to 11:00 am on Wednesday, January 11, 2023, at Timberlake Church. A celebration of Ellis’s life will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, January 11, 2023, at Timberlake Church with Pastor Brad McMullen and Justine Kiger officiating Interment will follow in Fort Hill Memorial Park.
