Elsie Turner Falwell
Elsie Turner Falwell passed March 8, 2023, at Lynchburg General Hospital, peacefully with her loving family by her side.
Elsie Falwell, born May 1, 1925, was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Elsie worked for GE in the manufacturing department for 30 years until she retired. During her life she enjoyed bowling, watching baseball and traveling with her husband Ernest in their camper across the United States and Canada. She enjoyed taking care and spoiling her family and dogs. She was a treasure of knowledge to her grandchildren, and great grandchildren and will be greatly missed.
She was preceded in death by her father Arthur William Turner, mother Clara Powell Turner, her sisters Johnnie Smith, Myrtle Smith, and the love of her life for 57 years, Ernest Edward Falwell.
Elsie is survived by her son William Falwell Sr.; grandchildren: Stephanie Falwell-Mills (Joseph), Matthew Walker Sr., Amanda Christian (Stacy), Billie Jo Mays (Jack), William Falwell Jr., Cristina Campbell (Tony), Marie Duncan, great grandchildren Myranda Montenegro (Jonathan), Victoria Gregory (Zack), Jesse JP” Bryant, Matthew Walker Jr., Katlin Haggie, Brandon Campbell, Faith Hawkins, Grace Hawkins, Madison Hawkins, Kimberly Campbell, Starr Campbell, Jamie Campbell, Nicole Falwell, Christy Cummings, Lil Russ, and one great-great granddaughter Isabelle Gregory.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 18, 2023, at Presbyterian Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, March 17, 2023, at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg.
