I always enjoyed my time with Bootsie. Being friends of his daughter Morgan, and son in law,Chase. I spent many fun days at the pool with them. I always looked forward to speaking to him and picking his brain about work and business. He always had sharp and to the point advice for me as I was opening my own small company. He was someone I looked up to and respected and was privileged to learn a little from . Im sorry to hear of his passing. And I wish all the best and strength to Valerie and Morgan as they mourn the loss of a husband and father. Im very sorry for this loss. Chris

Boosie was a hardened businessman. Hardened by all the hard things that he went through to make it. Although we did not speak much in the last few years, I always held a lot of respect for him, his accomplishments and mostly for his love and devotion to his family . It was obvious to all. Rest in peace old friend. Maybe we can meet in the next life.

I am so sorry to hear of Bootie's Passing. I had him on my mind all day when I heard of it...the memories of all the fun and unforgettable times at the Dahlia. He was a wonderful friend. May God hold and keep him close.

Bootsie and his sister Pinky were great childhood friends. We had many great times growing up in the same neighborhood. My deepest sympathy to his family.

From the early 70's, Bootsie became one of my best friends when we shared living quarters for a while. He was always friendly, generous to a fault, and would help anyone with anything. When he met and married Val, he built a very succesful business, but his personality and kindness never changed. I was so fortunate to meet up with him recently when we shared some of those fond memories, and of course he gave me some UVA memorabilia. I'm thankful for that time. May he rest in pain-free peace, where he will be watching over his family.

I Greatly enjoyed working with Bootsie all these years at Abc, he was incredibly knowledgeable about the roofing industry, and I also learned from him, and bounced a lot of things off of him, he was always glad to be helpful, in anyway, we will greatly miss dealing with him, we are praying for the family to be comforted thru this time.

Bootsie was a giant of a man, not because of his stature or booming deep voice, but because of his compassionate heart, his untarnished integrity and deep desire to help all those he loved to succeed in life. You never questioned where he stood. His infamous line was " I'd rather hurt your feelings than lie to you." He was always Bootsie and never tried to be anyone else. I've learned so much from him over the years. I competed with him in business, worked for him, and in recent years worked side by side with him in our businesses. Our relationship never changed over the years and I've always considered him a true friend and mentor. We will all miss him so much and that hole in our lives will never be filled, because there will only ever be one Bootsie. Rest in peace, my brother.

Valerie and Morgan~ Words will never be enough to express our sadness at the loss of Bootie in our world. He was one of a kind. He was like a brother that I had never had. He could make me so mad, then turn around and make me smile and laugh. He loved life, and loved and adored his family. He was the most generous person that I have ever known. He went out of his way to help others and to make sure they were taken care of. My years with him at the Dahlia, Virginia ball games, ACC tournaments, etc. were some of the best times of my life. I know he is in a better place looking over us, and his love will stay with all of us. Our prayers will be with you.

We both are so very sorry to hear about Bootsie. A great man who adored his family, his friends and his community. He will always be there watching over all of you, has been and will forever be there with you, not in body, but in his spirit and guidance from above. Bootsie was someone everybody could be proud to call family and friend. He was family to all his friends and friends to all his family. Peace for your grief. Prayers, Michele & JW Stinnett
