I was about 11 years old and still in primary school (Tragarete Road). This tall, skinny boy used to ride the same bus, but he went to a different school. He knew my name and every lunch-time he came by my school and asked the girls to call me. I used to hide from him; I didn't like him because he was too "long and lingay". One day Auntie Lucille (his mother) came to visit my great-grand-mother (Ta Nool), in Cocorite and I was shocked to see the skinny boy from the bus with her. That's how we found out we're related. He still came looking for me at school, telling the girls: "She's my cousin" - but I always hid. When Uncle LaiFang died, we were adults. He came to the wake. He told Auntie Eulie: "You know, when I was a lil boy, I was madly in love with Marjorie, crazy about her." Auntie Eulie exclaimed: "We eh want no Royal Family thing here! She is your cousin ... none of that! She is family!" He said: "Well I didn't know until my mother took me to see Ta Nool and Marjorie was living there." That was the last time I saw Pepsi. Rest in peace dear cousin Pepsi. My condolences to your bereaved family.

Good morning Sandra! May Philip's soul rest in eternal peace. Please accept my sympathy and may God comfort all who grieve for him. I just viewed his entire funeral service. Short, simple and sweet. Your eulogy was different and your account of the joy you experienced made me feel so happy for him that I did not have the sense of dread that I normally have with funerals. Take care and God bless you!

I remember well staying with Pepsi in Venezuela; I went with Jacinta. He was so kind and hospitable to us. He took us lots of places. He had lots of kind friends too - who really cared about him and they were really good to us.

Hello! I shared this joke with Sandra today and she said I should post it here. It was around 1977, I was in my late teens at the time, living in Diego Martin (Trinidad) with our large family. Pepsi was living in Venezuela. He got a ride with a friend on a small plane (they flew from Venezuela to Trinidad). Pepsi barged into our house with a huge stuffed fish on a giant platter. When he told us how he got the fish we burst out laughing. There was a fancy, high-class function going on downtown (Port-of-Spain). Pepsi went through the front door of the event, walked straight into the kitchen, picked up the tray with the stuffed fish, walked out the back door and came straight to our house in Diego. We were all dressed up, just about to leave the house to go to a party, when he arrived. We laughed and ate that wonderful fish. Since Pepsi didn’t have any change of clothes, we gave him Dad's pj top. He put it on, we went to the party and had fun. That's the kind of fun guy my cousin Pepsi was. All the Lai-Fangs pray that you will rest in Peace - our dear cousin Pepsi.

I take great comfort knowing with all that love and joy he shared, Pepsi is well received and resting in the arms of Jesus. I can hear the angels singing! Every time I think of Pepsi I see his face and I remember how much joy and laughter we shared, especially the last time we were together. I loved him dearly.
