Garland Larry Robertson

Garland Larry Robertson, 88, of Bedford, went to be the Lord on Saturday, September 9, 2023. He was born in Bedford to the late Oswald Cabort Robertson and Laura Virginia Carter. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Wheeler Robertson; brother, Elbert “Jinky” Robertson and step-grandson, Coty Meador .

Garland worked for many years at Rubatex doing a variety of jobs while there. He was a faithful member of Grace Memorial Baptist Church. Garland loved working on lawn mowers and listening to Bluegrass and gospel music. He was a very kind Christian man.

He is survived by his sons, Ricky Lee Robertson and friend, Sylvia and Mark Allen Robertson and wife, Trista; step-grandchild, Cayle; sister, Molly Cassidy and special friend, Nelson Abbott.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 am on Wednesday, September 13, 2023 at Tharp Funeral Chapel, Bedford with the Rev. Greg Rogers and Rev. Danny Holdren officiating. Burial will follow in Holy Land Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 12, 2023 at Tharp Funeral Home, Bedford, from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm.
