My Most Beloved Gayle, With the heaviest of hearts, we announce the passing from this life to the Eternal of our most beloved Gayle. She is re-stored anew to be with the Lord and her sweet mother Essie and niece Kristy. Gayle, born on a snowy January day lived life with so much love.

A graduate of Liberty High School she went straight to work to have a long forty-four-year career in hospitality accounting. Retiring in 2018 freed her up to full-time travel with her husband Les and their audio-visual business. Gayle was an encouragement to many as she battled over 25 years with cancer not ever losing site of her trust that God was in control.

Gayle’s great love for her family left behind include her father Rodrick L. Edwards, sisters Shela Wolford and Dana Overstreet and husband, Wayne. Brothers Roderick L (Tony) Edwards and Dennis R (Robin) Edwards. Sister In-laws Judy Edwards, Monica McCullough, Elisha Hawkes. Mother and Father In-law Johnnie Gale and David Hawkes. Nieces Nephews and Great Nieces and Nephews. Jeff Kernen, Cody Kernen, Greg Overstreet and Zack, Eli and Lani Overstreet, Tim and Sandy Overstreet and Abby and Ally Overstreet, Britain and Soloman McCullough and Ana Hawkes.

A celebration of Life and funeral service will be conducted at 10:00 am on Friday, August 13, 2021, at Tharp Funeral Chapel in Bedford with Pastor Andrew Hunt officiating. Burial will follow in Virginia Memorial Park cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00pm Thursday, August 12, 2021 also at Tharp Funeral Home Bedford.
