Gloria Hubbard Powell

Gloria Hubbard Powell, 80, of Lynchburg passed away on Wednesday, March 8, 2023 at her residence. She was the wife of the late Kenneth Russell Powell and Late Albert “Al” Hubbard.

Born in Monroe on February 1, 1943 she was a daughter of the late William “Willie” Campbell and Louise Campbell.

She was preceded in death by a son Johnny Hubbard; a grandson Jonathan Hubbard; and her siblings, Raymond Campbell, Calvin Campbell, Cecil Campbell, Pearl Moore, Shirley Outten, and Lorraine Fitzgerald.

She is survived by a loving  daughter, Karen Gibson (Steve) and Danny Gibson, Jr. (Patty) and a loving son, Mike Hubbard (Tonia); loving grandchildren, Cameron Gibson (Kayla), Landon Gibson, Nikki Hubbard, Jessica Dillow, Brittany Dennis, Arika Stemmer, Kevin Powell and Derrick Powell; and loving great-grandchildren, Khristian, Logan, Hayden, Leela Brooklyn  Jaycen and Impryss; nieces and nephews, Lisa Allen, Kathy Tolley, Teresa Campbell, Kay King, Sandy Chance, Sylvia Swann, Luke Outten and LH Outten; and a special extended family, Darlene and Bob Bowser, Muncie Kersey, Tracey Kersey, Timmy , Jake, Triston, and Isaiah.

A funeral service will be conducted 11:00 am Wednesday, March 15, 2023 at Tharp Funeral Home Madison Heights with Pastor Rick Rasberry  of Thomas Road Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow in Presbyterian Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm Tuesday, March 14, 2023 at Tharp Funeral Home, Madison Heights Chapel.

I’m so sorry to hear that Mrs.Powell has passed. Mrs.Powell was my neighbor for many years. Mrs.Powell was a very sweet lady! She loves her family so much.
