Gloria St.Clair Lynch

April 20, 1930 - September 10, 2023

Gloria St. Clair Lynch, passed away on September 10, 2023, at Lynchburg General Hospital. Born in Bedford County on April 20, 1930, a daughter of the late Robert Lee St. Clair and late Agnes Van Ness St. Clair.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Wesley Lynch and three sisters, Barbara Wood, Alma Lynch and Shirley Williams.

Gloria is survived by three daughters, June Dean Wooten (Fred), Beverly Dean Grubbs and Rebecca Woodford Stone (Victor); three grandchildren, Kathy Curry Maggi (Ryan), Cherie Caruso, and Raymond Hunley; five great grandchildren that she truly adored, Casey Maggi, Sarah Maggi, Donovan Caruso, Haven Hunley, Shiloh Hunley and baby Hunley on the way.

Gloria retired from Rubatex in Bedford, VA and continued her career to finally retire in 1995 from the Police Department for the City of Bedford.

Over the past 20 years Gloria and Wesley enjoyed traveling the east coast from Pennsylvania to Key West. If there was a trip to be had, she could usually recommend a shopping center in any city. They loved to take cruises and never missed a chance to jump on a ship. With a great sense of humor, she was also gifted with a green thumb and enjoyed her beautiful flower gardens. Gloria loved watching everyone devouring her pound cakes and banana pudding at family gatherings.

Over the years she attended Trinity Baptist Church, Bedford, VA and Emmaus United Methodist Church, Moneta, VA.

The family would like to extend our sincere thanks to the staff of Runk and Pratt at Liberty Ridge for their dedicated care of Gloria for the past several years.

In lieu of flowers, the family request you consider a donation to a charity of your choice.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, September 15, 2023 at Greenwood- Longwood- Oakwood Cemetery in Bedford, VA.

Tharp Funeral Home & Crematory, Bedford, is assisting the family. To send online condolences please visit tharpfuneralhome.com.
