James Clark Campbell

James “Jack” Clark Campbell, Sr., 77, of Huddleston formally of Natural Bridge Station, passed away on Tuesday, October 19, 2021. He was born on July 4, 1944, to the late Odna Campbell and Emily Campbell. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Lester Campbell and sister, Maxine Whorley.

Jack was a logger by trade and had a love for the outdoors, especially coon hunting with his son, Jimmy. He was one of the Jehovah’s witnesses and was very active in the congregation. He was known for his strong work ethic, his love for the game of golf and spending time with his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley Hughes Campbell, daughters, Shelia Arnett (Earl) and Sandy Weeks (Matthew); son, Jimmy Campbell (Amy); five grandchildren, Jaclyn Hostetter, Elizabeth Arnett, Sommer Campbell, Jay Campbell, Will Campbell, and three great-grandchildren, Emily, Brooke, and Christopher Hostetter.

A celebration of Jack’s life will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, October 24, 2021, at Tharp Funeral Chapel, Bedford. The family will receive friends on Friday, October 22, 2021, from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Tharp Funeral Home, Bedford.
