James Junior Boxley

James Junior Boxley 66, of Big Island, passed away on July 16, 2023. He was born on January 31, 1957, in Bedford County. A son of the late James Roosevelt Boxley Sr. and Vinnie Lou Otey Boxley.

James was Baptized at an early age at Reed Creek Baptist Church. He attended Bedford County Schools and graduated with the class of 1975. James was employed by Rubatex for many years. He will be remembered for his love of photography, gardening, his cats, music, and sports.

James is survived by his aunts, Louise Otey, Julia Otey, Jimmie Otey Wright, Gracie Horsley, Rosa Mae Boxley, two devoted cousins, Francine White and Sabrina “Eveit” Otey, numerous other cousins, relatives, and friends especially Darlene Spinner, Bobbie Jo and Bill Tynes.

The family wishes to express heart felt thanks to Virginia Baptist Hospital, Guggenheimer Health & Rehab, Lynchburg General and Bedford Memorial Hospital.
