James Robert Brooks
James Robert Brooks, 84, of Moneta, passed away on Tuesday, June 13, 2023, at the VA Veterans Care Center in Roanoke. He was born on February 6, 1939, to the late William Smith Brooks and Dorothy Luretta Brooks.
He is survived by his wife, Sandra Luby Brooks; children, Michelle Fines and husband, Dustin and Brian Brooks and wife, Heather; grandchildren, Dustin Fines, Jr. and wife, Reagan and Sophie Brooks; step-grandchildren, Sophia Brown and Elliana Brown; two great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Pandra Midkiff and nephew, John Midkiff and wife, Kelly.
Today, he woke up and knew who he was. Today, he woke up and knew where he was. Today, his friends and family who had faded away came to see him. Today, he will not be judged for a disease he could not help. Today, he won’t ask to go home, because he will be HOME.
