James Wilson Thompson, 56, of Lynchburg entered the arms of Jesus at Lynchburg General Hospital on Monday, February 1, 2022.
He was born June 24, 1965, in Radford, Virginia, son of the late Charles Thompson and Judy James. He was a local plumber for the past 15 years at Roto Rooter in Lynchburg where he made several lifelong friends. He enjoyed carpentry by trade and would help many in the community with household repairs in his free time. He was an avid Virginia Tech fan and loved attending football and basketball games. He attended local stock car races and watched Nascar races. He had many hobbies including collecting movies, shot glasses, and knives, fishing traveling to beaches, eating out with family and cooking with new recipes. He cherished his loved ones and made sure they were always taken care of no matter the time of day. He worked very hard his entire life for everything he owned, and that was one of his proudest accomplishments. He attended Thomas Road Baptist Church and never missed out on the “Beast Feast” each year.
