It’s with a heavy heart that we share the sudden passing of our beloved Jimmy (Jim) Allen Lawhon, loving husband, father, and grandfather.

Preceded in death by his parents, Harry A. La Whon and Carolyn M. Nelson; sister, Debra Lawhon; brother, Dale Lawhon; and first wife, Terri Ann.

Jim was born April 26, 1955, in Everett, Washington and passed on from this life on August 10, 2021.

Survived by his wife of 12 years, Cynthia (Cindy) Lawhon, and former wife Victoria Lawhon; children, Rechelle, Jordan, Molly, and Hunter Lawhon; grandchildren, William (Billy) and Holland; sisters, Lisa Storey and Theresa La Whon-Burt.

He worked at Framatone for 13 years. Jim proudly served our country in the U.S. Navy for a proud 13 years and earned many awards and medals. After serving in the U.S. Navy, he worked as a Merchant Marine.

Jim enjoyed his many fur babies (16 cats). He had a passion for cooking and spending many hours with his D & D family.

A memorial service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, August 16, 2021 at Tharp Funeral Home. The visitation will be held one hour prior.

Tharp Funeral Home & Crematory, Lynchburg, is assisting the family.

I was so saddened by the news that we had lost Jim. He was always a pleasure to work with and took pride in his work. He had such a positive outlook and always brought out the best in everyone. He will be missed. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Jim was always such a pleasure to work with and always so willing to help. He always put a smile on my face and was such a joy. I will miss hearing his joyful voice! My thoughts and prayers are with Jim and his family.

Cindy - it was with a heavy heart that I read about Jim. I will always remember his smile and how he loved to show me his projects when we worked at Areva. Prayers for you and your family.

It was such a shock to hear this & I am so very sorry for you loss. Jim was such a great guy. I was so lucky that we had many many phone conversations. He was always a cheerful voice on the other end of the line. He made me laugh every time I talked to him. He is missed by his Framatome family. Warm thoughts for faith & healing!
