Josephine Rose Rando Brown Bell

Josephine Rose “Jo” Rando Brown Bell, 98, of Blue Ridge went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, July 26, 2023. She was born in Johnson City, NY on January 8, 1925. A daughter of the late Joseph Rando and Anna Ciaravino Rando. In addition to her parents Jo was preceded in death by her husband, David Homer Bell; a son, Roger S. Brown; son-in-law, Dennis Bock, great-grandchild, Madison Marie Brown; special niece, Sandy Gotelli; four brothers and one sister.

Jo was a member of St. Johns Episcopal Church in Bedford Va. She was a very loving Nana who adored her time with her family, especially her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She worked for many years for Clean-It as a secretary before her retirement. She was also a member of Daughter’s of the King, Star Quilters Guild and Blue Ridge Quilters Guild. She was loved by so many and will be missed by her family and friends.

Jo is survived by her three children, Jaqueline Cipar and her husband, Joseph, Susan Bock and Michael J. Brown and his wife, Ellen: 8 grandchildren, Katina Ruffo and husband, Chris, Michael S. Brown and his wife, Jennifer, Nicole Hall, Joseph Cipar, Jr. and his wife, Jennie, Anna Harold, Brian Brown and his wife, Ariel, Christopher Brown and his wife, Jessica and Sara Brown and her husband, Mike; 17 great-grandchildren, Kristina, Dakota, Morgan, Myles, Emily, Vita, Garrett, Xander, Eowyn, Caden, Kendrick, Dawson, Joseph, Isabella, Parker, Raelynn and Sophia; one great-great-grandchild, Ellina; special nephew, Joseph T. Rando. Also, numerous other family many friends.

A funeral service and celebration of Jo’s life will be conducted at 3:00pm on Sunday, July 30, 2023, at St. John’s Episcopal Church in Bedford with Rev. Ben Cowgill officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm until 2:30pm prior to the service next door at Tharp Funeral Home and Crematory, Bedford. Burial and committal service will be held at 11:45 on Saturday, August 5, 2023 at the chapel of Vestal Hills Memorial Park in Vestal, NY. To send condolences online please visit tharpfuneralhome.com.
