Larry Albert Davis, 86, of Lynchburg passed away Friday, March 31, 2023.
Larry was born February 3, 1937, in Columbus, Ohio, a son of the late Albert Bartlett Davis and Helen Sarchet Davis. Larry honorably served his country in the U.S. Army Reserves.
He was the loving husband of Sterry Kimball Davis for over 63 years. They were an inseparable couple who met on a blind date while Larry was attending Virginia Tech and Sterry was a student at William and Mary.
Larry was a very successful international sales and marketing executive for the DuPont Chemical Company. He traveled the world extensively servicing customers in Africa, South America, Europe Asia and North America for more than 30 years.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his two sons: Bart Davis of Stonewall, VA and Scott Davis of Atlanta, GA, four grandchildren: Samantha and Sydney Davis both of Stonewall, VA, and Hannah and Jake Davis both of Atlanta, GA. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister Dianne Davis Hodges, and one brother Marc Sarchet Davis.
In traveling the world Larry often was accompanied by Sterry. In their travels they developed a love of wine! Upon Larry’s early retirement they became the proprietors of Stonewall Vineyards and Winery in the rolling foothills in Stonewall, VA.
Larry was a very driven and affable man who dearly loved his wife and two sons.
A private family columbarium service will be held at a later date in the Old City Cemetery in Lynchburg, VA.
