Mabel Dalton Soyars Deas
In the still of the night our Good Lord sent his Angel down and took “ SUNNY”home where she will no longer be in pain. He thought a little sweeter sunshine for the flowers and hummingbirds would be a good thing. She loved watching those hummingbirds. SUNNY is what a lot of you called her. Her husband Vann gave her the nickname and it stuck except with her family. We still call her Mabel, and we all love her very much.
Mabel Dalton Soyars Deas passed away January 25, 2022, at Heritage Hall Nursing Home. Mabel was born June 26, 1933, to Harry and Gladys Dalton in Blairs Virginia. When she turned 12 years old her mother Gladys passed away from a heart condition.
Harry married Louise Wall; Mabel had a new mom. They had a loving relationship.
Every little girl grows up and thinks about Prince Charming and walking down the aisle. She found her love Thomas Soyars. They traveled from one side of this country to the other until his passing. After 12 years Mabel was blessed enough to find someone to share her love with. In 1993 she and Vann Deas tied the knot. They had a fun exciting marriage traveling and building them a home. They both joined Brookhill Wesleyan Church. They were workers and supporters of the church. They loved their pastoral family. Pastor Joe will lead the services today..
Mabel never gave birth but if you had a dog, she was your friend. She had 2 poodles, Roblyn and Pompi.
Besides being predeceased by her husbands, she lost her dad in 1976 and her baby sister, Vivian Harris only 4 months ago.
She is survived by her brother (caretaker) Wayne Dalton and wife, Vivian, her brother Harry Lee Dalton and wife Sandra, and her brother-in-law, Wesley Harris husband of sister Vivian. She leaves a stepdaughter Christy Deas. One thing she was not lacking was nieces, nephews and many that loved her.
We will remember her as the tiny, sweet lady she was.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 6:00 p.m. today, Friday, January 28, 2022, at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 29, 2022, at Danville Memorial Gardens, 510 Church Ave. Danville, Va 24541.
