Maggie Pearl Jordan

Maggie Pearl Jordan, age 91, of Rustburg, died on Aug. 4 at The Elms Assisted Living Facility.

Ms. Jordan was born June 21, 1930, in Campbell County, a daughter of the late Richard Frank Jordan and the late Maggie (Mag) Steppe Jordan.  She was a member of the Beta Master chapter of Beta Sigma Phi sorority for 52 years, and was a member of the Rustburg On The Go Club.  She worked at Hill City News, had been a driver for the Campbell County Social Services, and had also worked at Krogers. Maggie was a very active and faithful member of New Chapel Baptist Church.

Maggie is survived by 11 nieces and nephews, 15 great nieces and nephews, and a number of great-great nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Warren Jordan, Thomas Jordan, Clyde Jordan, and William (Billy) Jordan; and three sisters, Nellie Jordan, Alice J. Evans and Marion Wilkerson Jimison.

A special thank you to the staff at The Elms and to Gentle Shepherd hospice for the love and care they provided to Maggie.

The family will receive friends at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 8, 2021 at New Chapel Baptist Church, with the funeral service to follow at 3:00 p.m. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.  Friends can also visit at other times at the home of her niece, Becky.

The family requests that you wear a mask to the funeral.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Building Fund or Cemetery Fund of New Chapel Baptist Church, P.O. Box 515, Rustburg, VA  24588 or to the charity of your choice.

Lew and Dave regret not being able to visit Aunt Maggie all the time she spent at the Elms. We have such great memories with her.
