Manya Joy Daniel

February 17, 1969 - January 24, 2022

February 17, 1969 – January 24, 2022

Manya was born on February 17, 1969, in Washington D. C., the beloved daughter of Doug and Gloria Daniel. She entered the world two minutes ahead of her twin brother, Monty Daniel.

On January 24, 2022 she gained her angel wings after losing her battle with Covid-19.

Manya grew up in Laurel Maryland and attended the First Baptist Church of Laurel.

In 1986, Manya and her family moved to Forest Virginia where she graduated from Jefferson Forest High School.

She obtained her State and National Pharmacy Technician’s certification. Her career brought her much joy and she found happiness in helping others.

Her love of animals led her to volunteer at the Lynchburg Humane Society where she adopted her faithful companion dog, Tila.

Due to COVID restrictions, a Memorial Service will be held at a later date in Williamsburg, Va., at Williamsburg United Methodist Church.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the Lynchburg Humane Society, 1211 Old Graves Mill Rd., Lynchburg VA 24502 or to Williamsburg United Methodist Church, “Building on our Legacy” fund, 500 Jamestown Rd., Williamsburg VA 23185

Tharp Funeral Home & Crematory, Lynchburg, is assisting the family.

Sweet soul, you will forever be missed. I know I don’t have the right words, but impact you had on all of our lives will live on forever. I know you’ll be watching those you love from above and are now a guardian angel.

I am so sorry to hear of Manyas passing. We were neighbors for 7 years and we would go the pool. She loved the pool. She was a great neighbor and we often spoke just sitting on our front porches talking about life. She will be greatly missed and my prayers continue to go up for her family and friends.

Our sweet Manya, She certainly lived up to her middle name. She was a joy to everyone she met. I don't ever remember her being sad or down (except when her beloved Zoe - also rescued from the pound died). I know that her sweet, beautiful voice will join that angelic choir in heaven. Always remembered, always loved, dear niece of mine.
