Marian Beth Lubbert

October 23, 1960 - August 13, 2021

MARIAN BETH LUBBERT, 60, of Abingdon, MD departed this life after suffering a fall while vacationing in Tybee Island, GA.  She entered into the presence of her Savior Jesus Christ on August 13, 2021.

Marian was born in Port Chester, New York on October 23, 1960.  She was the daughter of the late John Milton Lubbert and the late Inger Marie Lubbert (Andersen).  She was predeceased by her brother Hans Peter Lubbert of Lynchburg VA and survived by her brother Eric John Lubbert and his wife Anna-Liisa Lubbert of Guilford, CT, her nephew Peter Lubbert, nieces Carolyn (Chris) DiLeo and Rebecca Lubbert, along with many cousins in the US and abroad.

She grew up in Stamford CT, and graduated from Anderson University, IN.  Marion started her career in Connecticut with Max Factor Cosmetics in the early ‘80’s and then moved to Los Angeles with the company in the mid ‘80’s where she worked in the Legal Department on their Copyrighting and Licensing work. In 1992, Max Factor was acquired by Procter and Gamble and Marian moved to Hunt Valley, Maryland where she was part of the Marketing Services group and later became a Cover Girl Retail Account Planner. In 2018, Marian moved back to Connecticut to work for the Duracell Division on the Retail Brand Planning team. Most recently, she worked in New York City, where she worked in the Coty Corporate office prior to retiring.

Marian had many other hobbies and interests which included extensive travel and adventure, playing the piano and violin, hiking, biking, swimming and camping.  She also enjoyed researching family genealogy.  If you were a friend, you were sure to get regular phone calls from Marian.

In the midst of her death Marian was able to give the gift of life with the donation of her kidneys.

Marian was greatly affected in recent years with the untimely death of her beloved brother Hans.  Because of her faith in God through His son Jesus Christ, she is at peace and rest at her final home in Heaven with her parents and brother Hans.

Jesus said, “Do not let your hearts be troubled, trust in God, trust also in me, in my father’s house there are many rooms, and I go to prepare a place for you.”

Celebrate Marian Beth's life with a short message, photo or video!

I hadn’t heard from Marian in a while and looked her up to see if she had moved. My heart broke when I found out she had passed away. I first met her in high school. She was always kind and friendly to me. I knew she cared deeply for her friends and I was blessed to be one of her friends. May you Rest In Peace in the arms of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Love you my friend.

Oh Marian, I was just checking online to confirm your address to send you a Christmas card. I am devastated to hear of your passing. Since we met on our Iceland trip 20 years ago, I loved being in your company and was so happy that we remained friends as you moved from MD to CT, NY, and elsewhere. My heart is with your family and friends, and I take comfort in knowing that Heaven has gained an angel in you.

My sincerest condolences are extended to the loved ones and close friends of Ms. Lubbert. She became an Educational Partner/Supporter of my Baltimore City's Science Classroom activities. She even donned me with a P&G Teacher's award. Such a beautiful soul who encouraged others to do well by others, whether there was a benefit to gain, or not. I greatly appreciated she and her coworkers encouragement. I was searching for updated contact information on her and saw this saddened news. May God's love strengthen, bless and fill her placeholder in your hearts with cherished memories. I am confident in knowing that although Ms. Lubbert has transitioned, and is now absent from her Earthly temple. She is undoubtedly eternally in the presence of the Lord. Peace & Blessings

We are sad to hear that Marian is no longer with us. Marian visited Ludwigslust in 2012 to find out more about her family in Germany. During her visit she met my mom, Sylvia. My mom was working at the archive in Ludwigslust. In 2012 I also went to the US to be an Au Pair. My mom told her about me being an Au Pair. Marian offered her help without hesitating. We have been in contact ever since. I only met her twice in person. But WhatsApp and Zoom made a long distance friendship possible. I am glad that I got to meet her and for her friendship for the past 9 years. Our thoughts are with Marians family. She will be missed. Jana and Sylvia from Germany

My dear friend and sister, I've cherished our friendship since we first met at Playtex HQ in Stamford, Conn. in the early 1980's. Marian and I became instant friends and stayed close to almost the day she departed this world. Last time we spoke she was getting ready to leave for her last trip. I was expecting to see the photos and notes about that trip which was routine for us. We had a mutual love of nature and history and shared many hours through the years discussing our travels. We drove together from Chicago to Idaho in 2010 so she could help me get to Oregon to visit my daughter. Marian was the ideal person for such a venture as she never tired of seeking out new places to visit. My heart is heavy with sadness by the loss of this lovely, kind, funny and generous woman.

I cannot believe that you are gone, my dearest friend of 33 years. I was watching the news and heard about the flooding in Maryland and couldn’t remember the town you moved to, so instead of getting up to look at my phone book, I googled your name to find your picture and obituary. I am complete in shock, I just spoke to you before you were going on vacation. We met on a airplane in 1988, you were moving to Los Angeles, and we have been dear friends since then. I will miss you, we would talk for hours and share our deepest thoughts, we were always there for each other. I am in shock, I love you dear friend. My condolences to your family and friends. Leslie if you see this please contact me. I need to know what happened. God bless you Marian, you are with Hans forever. Love you Debbie, Joe and Eric

Nice to be able to participate in my dear cousin Marian's ceremony from a distance as far as Denmark. Last few year I had contact with Marian almost daily on WhatsApp, which gave me the privilege to learn to known her very well, as we could share everything going on in our daiy life. I will miss our frequent conversations. My sympathy and thoughts go her family, but inded also to her freinds, who became a big part of conversion, as she was traveling alot around visiting friend's, like her brother Eric mentioned several of times at the funeral. She had big plans for traveling to Europe and Danmark soon, now she will do it in our thoughts only. Your cousin Per

I had the pleasure of getting to know Marian with our WW group of walkers on Sunday morning before our workshop. Her stories of her travels were always enjoyable especially how she would not let anything hold her back from traveling on her own around the world. She truly will be missed on Sunday mornings. RIP Marian you are now on your eternal journey

Marian was one of the most loving, kind, sweet people I have ever known. It is difficult for me to believe that she is no longer here with us. I have many wonderful memories of her having spent time together when we were younger. There was never a time that I was with her that we did not have a great time. There was always plenty of laughter and hugs. She definitely was always considered to be part of our family. I will always remember and admire her free spirit never afraid to move on to a new job or travel to a new location. I will miss you dearly but take comfort knowing that my dad was right behind her parents to welcome her into heaven. Rest in peace my dear friend.

I'll always remember Marian as 'Aunt Mar'. She was a special person all my life - from visits to her home in Towson when I was young, to frequent phone calls of catching up, to seeing her when she came back to live in CT. I'm still shocked by her passing but know she is in a better place. Eric and Family - you are in my thoughts and prayers. Rest In Peace, Mar.

Marion the kindest, sweetest and caring person I have known. She and I worked together in the 70s at our restaurant in Stamford ct. After many years she came to my husbands 70 th birthday. He was so pleased to see her. He is in heaven and I hope they meet again . He thought she was a very special girl. It has been a shock for myself and my family. She and my daughter Allison spent time together as young girls. My daughter Cindy and my son Michael also felt close to her. We love you and know god will take good care of you. Rest In Peace

I knew Marian since I was a little boy. The things I remember most about her are soft voice, warm smile and sparkle in her eyes. You hear of people having a metaphorical twinkle in their eyes, but Marian actually did. She was always very kind to me and my family. I was fortunate to have lunch with her, her friend Judy and my mom before she moved back to Maryland. We spoke after that as well. I am incredibly grateful for that afternoon. Having lost my partner unexpectedly at an early age, I truly believe that those whose light shines brightly are sometimes too bright to remain on earth and have a better mission in spirit. There is no question in my mind that Marian is one of those lights and though it will be difficult to not be able to speak with her anymore, I find peace that she is watching over all of us. I know my dad and my partner were there to greet her. You will be missed, sweet Marian! Love, Michael

Marian was a delight. Our paths crossed on our respective WW journeys. I loved her desire to travel, and enjoyed her travel stories. We traded recipes, places to hike and restaurants to try. I'm truly saddened and will miss her smile and friendship.

I met Marian a few years ago through WW. A few of us walk 3-4 miles each Sunday morning before our workshop. Once Marian found out, she quickly joined us. She always had stories of past adventures or talked about her upcoming trips. It was always a pleasure having her join our 'walk and talk', as we like to call it. I am sure I can speak for all of us in our walking group, she will be greatly missed. Our Sunday mornings won't be the same. Rest in peace Marian <3.
