Mary Dalton

December 9, 1962 - February 27, 2023

Mary Owen Davidson Dalton, of Madison Heights, VA passed away on Monday February 27, 2023 at the young age of 60.

She is survived by her daughter, Jennifer N. Dalton and granddaughter, Hannah N. Pierce of Madison Heights; son, Brian L. Dalton and wife Lauren of Monroe, along with their two children, Cason and Juliet; sister, Delores Gordon; Linda Davidson, who served in a loving mother role over the years; former husband and father of her children, Roger L. Dalton of Monroe; chocolate lab, Moose.

Mary was a hard-working woman who made friends everywhere she went. Her life’s focus was to find the silver lining in every situation she encountered. While she held many positions throughout her career days, her most beloved positions were at Quik-E Foods, as a store owner at T&W in Monroe, and Frito-Lay. Even if her official job changed her love, passion and ability for cooking good food remained. Whether it be at work or home she was always cooking up something good, filling bellies and bringing smiles to faces all around.

A celebration of life will be held at Tharp funeral home, Madison Heights Friday, March 3, 2023 from 5 PM to 7 PM.

In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that you assist with funeral expenses or reach out to the family directly for other opportunities to assist.

Tharp Funeral Home, Madison Heights is assisting the family.

I am so sorry to hear of Mary's passing. I worked with her at Frito Lay for years and was instantly drawn to her positivity and energy. She is the most eccentric and interesting person I ever had the pleasure of meeting. We had just reconnected last year and I was almost in disbelief to hear from her again, I was so excited. You are loved and will be missed Mary. 💝
