Mary Faye Hackett Harler

January 18, 1950 - August 1, 2023

Mary Faye Hackett Harler, age 73, went home to be with the Lord on August 1st, 2023. She passed away peacefully in her home in Madison Heights.

Faye was born January 18th, 1950 in Lynchburg, Virginia, daughter of the late William Selby Hackett and Mary Frances Mitchell Hackett.  She is survived by her husband Frederick Earl Harler Sr, married October 31st 1967.  They have three children, Frederick Earl ‘Tyke’ Harler Jr. (Barbara), Susan Harler, and Rebecca ‘Becky’ Sadler (Ron).

Faye was blessed with, and is survived by her 6 granddaughters, whom she completely adored.  Tiffany Parcels(Devin), Brittany Fore(Josh), Kaitlyn, Megan, Skylar(Tyler), Kaleigh who all took their first steps, spoke their first words, went to the park, school, the beach and countless other adventures under the loving and watchful eyes of their Granny Faye. Additionally, she is survived by nine great-grandchildren and her fur baby Lucky.

She was the oldest of three children.  She was preceded in death by her sister Selby Ann Hackett Tomlin (William) and survived by her youngest brother William Lee Hackett (Leil) of Lexington.

She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. She loved to paint, she loved to drink coffee, and she loved nature and all animals. To know her was to know love, kindness, and gentleness. Some of her lifetime friends were Ginger Mitchell, Connie Wright (Melvin), and Bobbie Jo Smith.

The family would like to extend their gratitude and appreciation to her caregivers, Shelby Denton and Megan Kramer.  And we want to acknowledge the sacrifice Susan made in the care of her mother as well.  We are so grateful for the excellent care they provided her. In addition, we would like to thank Seven Hills Hospice.

In lieu of flowers the family would like memorial donations donated to the Amherst County Humane Society.

The family will receive visitors at the home of Tyke and Barbara on August 4th between 4 and 7 pm.

Tyke and family. So very sorry for your loss. It’s been a very long time since I’ve seen you all or your mom but have great memories of her. She was always welcoming for as much time I spent at your house. Prayers to you all.
