Michael Learnd Davis, Sr.

July 10, 1981 - August 17, 2023

Michael Learnd Davis, Sr., age 42, departed this life on August 17, 2023, at his home in Lynchburg, Virginia. He was proceeded in death by his mother Ethel Davis Pillow; grandparents, Yvonne Stevens Hamlette, and Herman Hamlette; aunts, Leshia, Deborah, and Tammy Hamlette (Smith); and uncles, Roy, and George Stevens and Darryn Hamlette.

Michael leaves to cherish his memory, wife, Millie Davis; father, Michael Hamlette (Deborah Hamlette); six sons, Michael Jr., Micah, Timothy, Xavier, Dre, and John; one daughter, Shyanne; one brother, Dmontez Hamlette; three sisters, Latoria Nappier Warren (Jay Warren), Dawn and Daphne Davis; uncles, Tives and Herman Hamlette; and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Michael was a 1999 graduate of Heritage High School with Honors. He went on to graduate WVU with a bachelor’s in science and business administration with a major in business management and emphases in communication studies and sociology. Michael loved family, football, and mostly food! He had a smile that would warm the heart. He was great at being a best friend.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 29, 2023, at 2 P.M. at Tharp Funeral Home in Lynchburg.

The family wants to thank each and everyone who prayed, called, and stopped by to give condolences.

Lil Mike, You were my favorite Hamlette. I can remember you wanting some of my dinner. The any time we played words with friends. I won't be in attendance. But wherever your at, you will be just fine, no doubt in mind.

My heart, prayers, and love goes out to the family! Mike will definitely be missed walking throughout the neighborhood along with the brief conversations when we crossed path! God bless!
