Nakia DiaShea Williams “Kia” departed this life on Tuesday July 11, 2023 at the youthful age of 18 after a long battle of Lupus. Born on October 29, 2004 to Calvin Cooley St. John III and the late Odessty L. Williams. She was the youngest of all.

She attended E.C. Glass High School where she received her GED during the 11th grade. From there Kia went on and became a CNA and worked at Lynchburg Health and Rehab to provide for her and her son, Kylin until her health started failing.

Nakia “Kia” is survived by her handsome, sweet son, Kylin King Williams; her grandmother, Maxine H. Lyle; her father Calvin Cooley St. John III; an aunt, Shana Clark. Her loving brother that took care of her and her son, Taronza Williams. Her other brothers, Deshane St. John, Calvin St. John IV, and Rasheen Haythe. A sister, Kayla Haythe; two step sisters, Brianna Word, and Tianna Smith. Two very special friends as sisters Jasmine Morrison and Keira Daniel and a host of great aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Kia was loved by many.

In addition to Nakia is proceeded in death by her grandmother, Carolyn Williams; her mother Odessty L. Williams; her uncles, Terry B. Russell and Preston St. John and an aunt, Stephanie Hill.

The service will be held Monday July 17, 2023 at 1P.M. at Tharp Funeral Home and Crematory.

Tharp Funeral Home & Crematory, Lynchburg, is assisting the family.
