Peggy Faye Arrington Tyree

September 2, 1948 - June 4, 2022

After a valiant 21-month fight Peggy Faye Arrington Tyree of Walnut Hollow Rd., Lynchburg has lost her battle with cancer that began on her birthday September 2, 2020. She fought til the very end not wanting to give up. She passed away at the age of 73 at the Bedford Hospice House on Saturday, June 4, 2022.

Peggy leaves her husband, Clarence “Butch” Tyree, married 34 years and together 50 years; sons David Tyree (Kristi) and Dwayne Arrington (Donna) and their two children, Caleb and Kyndal Arrington.

Peggy was blessed to be the youngest of seven children born to the late Reaver and John Arrington, Jr. Mama raised Peggy and all of her siblings to have strong family ties and an unbreakable bond. We are so blessed for the values we were raised to hold high. Those values have moved down through the next generations. We are always there for each other.

Beloved brothers Bob, Dennie and Boots welcomed Peggy with open arms. She always said they were with her holding her hands for each of her radiation treatments.

Peggy is also survived by her loving brothers and sisters, Pete Arrington (Dot), Dot Sandifer and Iris Little; sister-in-law Bea Arrington; several nieces and nephews; her G and B family and her canine friend Monty.

She was preceded in death by her brothers-in-law Otis and Jim; sisters-in-law, Barbara and Della; nephew Dennie, Jr., Brian, Kevin and Tyler; mother and father-in-law Clarence and Vera Tyree and her beloved dogs Champ. Willis and Jake.

Peggy attended Boonsboro School and graduated from Liberty High School. She worked at Wiley & Wilson and reluctantly retired from G and B Insulation in 2018 after 33 years.

Peggy loved her family, her dogs, her flowers, Fox News and shopping at Kroger in Boonsboro, often times being the last one out the door at closing time.

Thank you to the staff at Alan B. Pearson Cancer Center and Bedford Hospice House for their compassionate care for our Peggy.

To the family of dear sweet Peggy, I met Peggy about a year ago at the Pearson Cancer Center. We connected right away and she brought so much light to us, smiles and laughter. She fought a brave fight. In my years of service with Centra making friends was such a gift. Miss Peggy and Iris are two that I cherish! May God comfort you all during this time!!!

I worked with Peggy at Wiley&Wilson from 1969-1975. She was a lovely person, and we shared the same aunt, Lillian Arrington Gallagher, but on different sides of the family. My sincere sympathies to Peggy’s family and especially to Butch. whom I met while working at W&W.

Peggy Faye Arrington Tyree. Friend ! Peggy and I were friends at Boonsboro & Liberty High School in the 60's and end up being neighbors on Abert Road for many years. We enjoyed spending time with Butch and Peggy at the cabin/lake across the road. Peggy always enjoyed a friendly prank or joke and loved her many friends that would visit. Peggy will be missed by all that knew her. Condolences to Butch, Dwayne David and her other family members. Her kindness, sense of humor and contagious laugh will certainly be missed. Prayers for Gods grace and tender mercies sent in Loving Memory The Harvey's Ed Fran and Carey Ann
