Robert J. Howard

April 5, 1957 - September 28, 2021

Robert James Howard, 64, of Bedford passed away on Tuesday, September 28, 2021. He was the loving husband of Linda Kay Wilson Howard.

Born on April 5,1957 he was the son of the late James Howard and Suzanne Mercer Howard.

In addition to his wife, Linda, he is survived by his son: Jason Howard and wife, Leanna; brothers: David, Jim, and Don Howard; grandchildren: Hayden, Peyton and Sydney Howard and his cherished dog Kara.

Robert was a “Jack of all Trades”, when it came to woodworking there was nothing he couldn’t build, from a deck to a shed to building bird houses. He enjoyed working in the garden. He loved to set around the campfire at night and listen to music. Every Friday night was date night with his wife, Linda. He never missed taking her out on a Friday night. He will be deeply missed.

Robert proudly served his country in the United States Coast Guard.

The family would like memorial contributions to be made in Robert’s name to The Wounded Warriors Project. P.O.Box 758516 Topeka, Kansas 66675.

RJ, as I always knew him, knew how to make me smile. He loved nothing better than getting my goat. I probably wasn't the only one. He loved his brothers and his mother more than himself. He went the extra mile for them when he could. I know he will be deeply missed by his brother David. They shared a bond that can never be broken. My heart-felt condolences go to his wife, whom I never met, but I know you brought him great happiness. I am so sorry he is gone. He will be missed here, but welcomed there by his loving, sweet mother, Sue.

Robert was my go to handyman. He was dependable, hard working, honest and was a pleasure to be around. I will miss his smiling face but he will never be forgotten. Every time I sit on my deck, walk down my stairs, watch my dog play in the fenced area Robert built for her I will remember Robert. “RIP” my friend.
