Robert Joseph Anglin, Jr.
Robert Joseph Anglin, Jr., 69, of Lynchburg, VA, died Sunday, January 8, 2023. Robert was preceded in death by his mother, Elizabeth Helen Anglin.
Robert is survived by one daughter, Caitlin Anglin (Joey Dalton); his ex-wife Carolyn Anglin, with whom he remained life-long friends; granddaughter Kyleigh (12); grandson Carter (5) whom he loved both so much and adored greatly; his two closest friends Mike Edelson and Tom Sandidge, whom he considered brothers, and his sweet fur baby “Princess”, his cat who misses him dearly.
Robert was an avid gun collector and loved visiting the shooting range to show off his newest gun when he was able. He was also a lifetime NRA member and a strong supporter of the 2nd Amendment. Robert made invaluable friendships over several years from spending time on the Virginia Fone Net as a HAM (KK4EXP) and enjoyed leading the net meetings every Wednesday evening. He also spent time watching hockey games and enjoyed it, since it was his favorite sport. He was a huge New York Rangers fan and also at a time played hockey himself when he was younger. Robert had an extensive career with various jobs but spent the majority traveling for work as a Sales Engineer meeting customers in various states within the US. He then retired at the age of 65. He also loved attending family gatherings and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He will forever be loved and missed.
The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 p.m. on Saturday, February 11, 2023 at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg.
