Rodney Gerald Gallier, Sr.

November 16, 1960 - March 12, 2023

Rodney Gerald Gallier, Sr., 62, of Madison Heights, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 12, 2023.

Rodney was born on November 16, 1960 in Lynchburg to the late Oscar Fitzgerald Gallier, Jr. and Lydia Alderson Hudson Gallier.

He was a fun-loving, opinionated, God-fearing man. It was a hard struggle for him, but he always spoke highly of the Lord Jesus Christ and the blessings he received. He had a love for the outdoors, NASCAR, and had a “famous” cat, Lucky, who accompanied him on many camping trips and even a cross-country, East to West Coast adventure. He was a friend to everyone and never met a stranger.

Along with his mother, Lydia of Madison Heights, he is survived by his loving wife, Sara; his sons, Rodney Gerald Gallier, Jr. (fiancée Angelita) of Madison Heights and Devin Wade Gallier (Anita) of Plumas Lake, Calif.; his step-son, Zachary Crouch (Becca) of San Jose, Calif.; his grandchildren, Taylor Ann (Hunter), Hailey (Matt), Laci, and Jordan and their loving mother, Heather, Amelia, Elijah, Nate, and Madalyn; his brothers, Stanley and Brian Gallier; his nieces, Amanda and Jenny; and many cousins and close friends.

A celebration of Rodney’s life will be held on Friday, March 17, 2023 at Clifford Baptist Church at 1 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, please consider making donations to the Clifford Baptist Church Missions or Building Funds, 635 Fletchers Level Rd. Amherst, VA 24521.

Tharp Funeral Home & Crematory, Madison Heights, is assisting the family.

Condolences & Tributes

Celebrate Rodney's life with a short message, photo or video!

Lydia, I'm sorry for your family's loss. I remember hearing about your sons while we worked together at Craddock Terry and how proud you were of your family. He's in God's hands now and will be for ever safe. Kit and I moved from Lynchburg five years ago or I would have come to the service. Be well my friend.
