Roger Lee Boyd

Roger Lee Boyd, 72, of Thaxton, passed away on Wednesday, June 7, 2023. He was born in Dublin, VA on December 20, 1950. A son of Mary Simpson Boyd and the late Lester Marvin Boyd. In addition to his parents Roger was preceded in death by his brother, Timothy Dale Boyd.

Roger served his country in the United States Marine Corp during Vietnam. He was the owner/operator of RLB Painting. He enjoyed working with his hands, especially painting and woodworking. His passions consisted of music of all types, playing his guitar, time in the outdoors, gardening, making wind chimes out of bamboo, the Washington Redskins, shooting guns, collecting knives, belt buckles and so much more. He loved his land and believed in Earth, Wind, Fire and Water. His free spirit was contagious, and he was loved by so many.

In addition to his mother, Roger was survived by his wife, Iris Boyd; two sons, Christopher Paul Boyd and Joshua Les Boyd and his wife, Jessica; two grandchildren, Cody Roger Boyd, and Jocelyn Rose Boyd; one brother, Mike Boyd and his wife, Sherry. Also surviving are numerous other family and many friends.

Our hearts are saddened but I am thankful to have shared memories with Roger. The legacy he has left on our family is unmatched by any words that can be written.
