Roger Lee Peters

July 19, 1960 - September 7, 2023

On Thursday, September 7, 2023, Roger was called home by his Lord and Savior.

A huge heart and sensitive soul, as unique as a snowflake, he was one of a kind. You didn’t just meet Roger, you experienced him. With a strong faith and love of God that he freely shared with all he met. If you spent three minutes with Roger, you had a friend for life.

Roger was a proud veteran and member of the American Legion. He spent his Fridays at the Monument Terrace with fellow veterans and blessed everyone he saw with “Jesus loves you”. Roger was a lover of all music and a gifted drummer and harmonica player; he won first place in a battle of the bands for his drum solo at the age of 14 with the song “Wipe-out”. When he played the harmonica, he poured his soul into it and you could feel his raw emotions. He will forever be missed.

Roger was preceded in death by his mother, Betty T. Peters; maternal grandparents, Paul and Lena Tyree; paternal grandparents, Grandville and Mary Peters; brother-in-law, Joe Lloyd.

Roger leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife, Tammy; father, Paul Peters; brother, Ricky (Brenda); sisters, Temby, and her son Ryan (Chelsey) and Dawn (Josh), and their son Nick and Aiden; son Jason; three step children, James, Jeremy, and Chelsey; brother-in-law, David (Dana); grandchildren, Hunter and Phoebe, aunts, Lynda (John) and Jane; uncle, Mike (Brenda); and many much loved cousins and friends.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Tharp Funeral Home & Crematory, Madison Heights, is assisting the family.
