Sandra “Sandy” Kay Malmberg

January 19, 1953 - April 18, 2021

Sandra “Sandy” Kay Malmberg, of Forest passed away peacefully Sunday, April 18, 2021 at age 68. She was the wife of Tyrone Hicks for over 35 years.

Sandy met Tyrone in Virginia Beach, Virginia in 1986 where they fell in love. They dedicated themselves to each other a short time later. In 1988 they moved to Las Vegas, Nevada.

She worked as a specialty account auditor for many years and was a parishioner of St. Therese Parish. Sandy had a vibrant personality; people were naturally drawn to her. She was an inspiration to all. The simple things made her happy, drinking coffee and chatting, baking cookies and crafting were a few of her favorite things.

In addition to her husband Tyrone, she is survived by a brother Dean Feilen of Laughlin, NV, a sister Gloria Perchert of Page, ND, her stepson Maurice Hicks of Mooresville, North Carolina, four step grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by one brother Richard Feilen, and one sister Sharon Leist.

The family will hold a private memorial service at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Sandra Kay Malmberg to the American Heart Association.

I have so many memories of Sandy, I'm going to miss The Easter "Beer" Egg hunt, The "Infamous" 4th. of July barbecue, Back yard "Volley Ball" breaks and sprains included. She was always there for me if I needed help or had a question or just wanted to shoot the breeze, I rarely got a word in edgewise but after we were done I felt I'd been talked out. Ty my condolences & thanks for your devotion and care. Sandy we will ALWAYS love and miss you.

Sandy and I started our careers with Beverly Enterprises at their Santa Monica , CA location. I was her Trainer and Mentor when she decided to move into the AR arena. She was a quick study and her career skyrocketed because of her skills and outgoing personality. Sandy was always upbeat and always had a smile for everyone around her. I remember one time I had to tell her that her clear, plastic high heels belonged at a disco - but weren’t appropriate for work!!!! We laughed about that years later. Sandy - I will miss you , my friend - - - gone too soon! Ty , my prayers are with you. I pray the good memories will get you through this tough time.

I had the great privilege of meeting Sandy over 25 years ago. I was also lucky enough to spend time working with her on company projects. Her work ethic was next to none and her vibrant personality made everyone around her take notice! 🙂 She is someone I will never forget. I can hear her voice and laughter in my head and heart still today. Ty - God bless you for your devotion and living care. Rest In Peace beloved Sandy.
