Tyler Akil Morgan

October 24, 1997 - July 17, 2022

On Sunday, July 17, 2022, the Lord called Tyler Akil Morgan home to rest. He’s now at peace and as Tyler would say “Thank you Lord Jesus!”

We were blessed and honored to have had the privilege of Tyler’s presence these past 24 years.

He was born on October 24, 1997, to Bryant Morgan and Talethia Rosser Morgan. Tyler was a member of New Free Spring Baptist Church. He especially loved hearing the youth choir sing. He also attended school and went so far as to participate in the Rustburg High School Graduation in 2017.

Tyler enjoyed music, dancing, traveling, and spending time with family. Tyler’s life will forever be cherished by his brother, Taylor Morgan of Cascade, VA; nephew; Adrian; his sister of Hurt, VA; grandfather; Herman Rosser; grandmothers, Alfreda Tweedy Rosser, and  Bertha Morgan; great-grandmother, Doris Clark and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, relatives, friends, and all those who worked tirelessly with him before, during, and after his school years.

A celebration of Tyler’s life will be held on 3:00 pm Thursday, July 21, 2022, at Tharp Funeral Home Chapel, Lynchburg. The family has requested everyone to dress casual with blue jeans and orange tops.

In lieu of flowers please offer contributions to Harmony Day Support located on 1173 London Links Drive Forest, VA,24551 or the ARC of Central VA located on 1508 Bedford Ave. Lynchburg, VA 24504.

Tee, BT, and Taylor, Having Tyler as my student, watching him grow and accomplish so much are some of my best memories. It was really hard to not be happy when Tyler was around. I can still see his smile, hear his mischievous laugh and hear him singing Sam Smith songs to the top of his lungs. He was such a remarkable young man and everyone at RHS knew and loved him. It was truly an honor to be his teacher. I know he is up there singing and dancing on those streets of gold. Love Denise Dinwiddie Rawlings
