Virginia Gardner Wallace Dodge

Virginia Gardner Wallace Dodge, age 90, passed away on April 14, 2022 at her residence. She was preceded in death by her son Steven Gregory Dodge; Step-brother, Jack C. Mitchell; step-daughter, Patricia Dodge; Mother, Sarah Virginia Bond Mitchell and Father Sterling Kenney Wallace.

Virginia (Ginny) was born and raised in Bedford, Virginia. After graduating High School, she left Bedford to attend Mary Washington College. Upon graduation she moved to Washington D.C. where she would work for the Government, marry and have and raise her children. She was most known for her outgoing, cheerful and helpful nature. She loved painting, drawing, and photography. A painting of hers hangs in a home in Paris, France. She loved to play Bridge, and to knit. She loved music and played both Guitar and Piano, teaching both for a time. She loved playing and teaching Tennis. She also taught English as a Second Language, helping many people from other Counties adjust to life here. She worked for the Government for many years as a Russian Linguist and retired from Government Service with a Honorable Service Medal. She was a loving Sister, Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother.

She is survived by her Brother Sterling Kennedy Wallace, Daughter Elizabeth Dodge Bahlmann, Grandsons David William Bahlmann II and Michael Gregory Bahlmann, and Great Grandchildren Mikayla Renee Bahlmann, Savannah Raye Bell, and Theodore James Bahlmann as well as Nieces Kay Foster and Virginia Murphy, step-daughters, Barbara June Dodge- Dart, Teresa Cullen, Christine Grazzini, and many wonderful Cousins.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, May 14, 2022, at Main Street United Methodist Church in Bedford, Virginia. Flowers may be sent to the Church for the Service.
