Wanda Elaine Lemon Fenderson
Wanda Lemon Fenderson from Roanoke, VA, formerly of Covington, VA, passed away peacefully at home on March 15th, 2023, with family and friends. She was a shining light to everyone that knew and met her. She was known as momma to many.
She is survived by her husband of 64 years, William Burton Fenderson; a daughter, Randa Eanes and husband, Clifford Eanes; a son, Randall Burton Fenderson; a brother, Wilbur “June” P. Lemon, Jr.; niece, Dawn Lemon and their two cats, Lil Fella and Lil One.
Wanda was preceded in death by her parents, Betty Lemon Miller and Wilbur P. Lemon, Sr., and her beloved cat, Lil Girl.
Her favorite prayer that she shared with many: I said a prayer for you today, and I know God must have heard. I felt the answer in my heart, although he said no words. I didn’t ask for wealth or fame. (“I knew you wouldn’t mind.”) I asked to send treasures of a far more lasting kind. I asked that he be near you at the start of each new day to grant you health and blessings and friends to share your way! I asked for happiness for you in all things great and small, but it was for his loving care I prayed the most of all!
Wanda loved to travel and her favorite quote was, “I don’t know where I’m going, but I’m going!” Her parents said her middle name should be go! Our mom and dad’s wife is one of God’s greatest blessings. She will be missed!
A celebration to honor her life will be held at a later date.
In remembrance, please donate to an animal shelter of your choice.
