William Gordon Maas

William Gordon Maas, “Bill” (64), of Roanoke, Virginia passed away on Wednesday June 28th, 2023.

Bill was born on September 22nd 1958, in Martinsville, Virginia.

Bill enjoyed having family over for weekend cook outs by the pool. Bill loved traveling the world with his best friend and wife of 42 years, and enjoyed showing his children the places they had discovered together. He loved playing golf with his family and friends over the years. Bill enjoyed gardening, especially growing tomatoes.

Bill is survived by his wife Patricia (Vaeth) Maas, his three children; Ethan Maas and wife Jess (Barber) Maas, Billy Maas, Emily (Maas) Bowles and husband, Brian Bowles, and his beloved grand-daughter Vivienne Bowles. His three sisters, Gayle Clingenpeel, Lorrie Maas and Jackie Maas. And dozens of nieces, nephews and extended family.

Bill was predeceased by his grandparents, Gordon and Haseltine Byrd of Snow Creek and his mother, Shelby Maas.

Per Bills request no visitation or funeral will be held. In lieu of flowers or donations the family sincerely hopes that you reach out to your family and friends to spread the love and joy that Bill so freely gave us all.

I’m so sorry to hear about Bill.When I was an electrical inspector I inspected many of his jobs and enjoyed working with him even when he worked on my pool I enjoyed talking with him. I pray for you and your family.
