Gail Baber Humphrey, a resident of Lynchburg, Virginia, passed away peacefully on March 25, 2025, at the age of 88. Born on June 23, 1936, in Virginia, she lived a life devoted to her family and community.
Gail graduated from Brookville High School and enjoyed reconnecting with her classmates over the years. She was a dedicated member of the Boonsboro United Methodist Church, where she fostered connections with friends and fellow parishioners. Her passion for the natural world was evident through her love of gardening and bird watching, which brought her joy and serenity throughout her life.
She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Kenneth Baber and Violet Brown Baber, who undoubtedly influenced her nurturing spirit and commitment to family values.
She is survived by her two sons, Chip Humphrey (Maria) of Manakin Sabot, Virginia, and Ken Humphrey of Lynchburg, Virginia. Gail's legacy continues through her grandchildren, Ashley Humphrey Archambeault (Allen) and Paul Humphrey, both of whom reside in Lynchburg, Virginia.
Gail will be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother and for her warmth, kindness, and dedication to her family and her faith. Her presence will be profoundly missed by all who knew her.
A graveside service to honor Gail's life will be held on March 31, 2025, at Fort Hill Memorial Park, located at 5196 Fort Ave, Lynchburg, Virginia. The service will begin at 11:00 AM.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Boonsboro United Methodist Church, 113 Coffey Road, Lynchburg, Virginia 24503.
