Gala Renay Myers Elliott, 60, of Lynchburg Virginia died Wednesday, March 1, 2017 at home surrounded by her loved ones. She was the loving wife John Wesley Elliott, Sr. for 42 years.
Born in Pembrook, Virginia on September 6, 1956 she was the daughter of the late Bobby M. Myers, Sr. and Dolly Falls Myers. She is survived by her son, John (PeeWee) Elliott Jr. of Lynchburg and her daughter, Kaitlin Elliott of the residence, two sisters, Paulette Chapman of Rustburg and Judy Hudson (George) of Lynchburg, three Brothers, Brian Myers (Regina), Jeff Myers (Lisa) and Bobby Myers Jr. (Wanda) all of Lynchburg and a sister in law, Audrey Myers of Lynchburg as well as numerous nieces & nephews that she loved like her own children. Renay also leaves behind a special dedicated friend, Luanne Mayhugh of Appomattox, Va.
Renay was preceded in death by her brother, William (Billy) Myers and her brother in law, Jimmy Chapman.
Renay was a former employee of Waytech Electronics for twenty-three years. She was employed for the last ten years by Campbell County School Transportation Department until she was forced to retire in January 2017.
The family would like to especially thank her sister, Paulette & best friend, Luanne for their dedication & loving care they provided during Renay’s illness.

The family will receive friends at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg on Friday, March 3, 2017 from 7 p.m. until 8 p.m. A celebration of Renay’s life will be held immediately following in the chapel of Tharp Funeral Home with Pastor John Sines, Jr. officiating.
