Garrett Mcmahon

Garrett McMahon, 23 of Bedford, Virginia passed away unexpectedly Saturday morning, December 14, 2013 at Roanoke Memorial Hospital from injuries sustained in single motor vehicle accident.

Born April 6, 1990, Garrett moved to the Roanoke Valley area from his hometown of Binghamton, New York, in 1995. He is survived by his father and stepmother, Michael and Ellen McMahon; older brother, Ryan McMahon and his partner Nicole Stump; all of the Roanoke area, his mother and step father, Terri (Stulir) and Luciano Piccirilli; his sister, Luciana Piccirilli; step brother, Michael Piccirilli his fianc̩ Mallorie Landers; step sister, Gina Piccirilli. Maternal grandparents, Jim and Patti Stulir; Pat and Micki Grow. Additionally he is survived by many Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins from both sides, all of whom reside in upstate New York.

Garrett was a keen competitor who excelled at hockey, football, baseball and golf, securing his first hole in one at age 12. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to fish and hunt, bagging his first 8 point buck at age of 14, but was also known to have a special bond with all creatures and was lovingly known as the animal whisperer. He had a love for music and shared a passion for Harley Davidson motorcycles along with his father and brother, and rode with them side by side often.

Garrett will be remembered by those who knew him best for his ability to make everyone in his presence laugh and smile. His easy-going nature and generous spirit that made everyone around him feel at ease.

There will never be a day that goes by that we won\Ӫt think of Garrett with love in our hearts and a smile on our faces. Heaven has a special Angel that is watching over all of us.

Services will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, December 20, 2013 at St. Francis Catholic Church in Hillcrest, NY. The family will receive friends on Thursday, December 19, 2013 from 4:00 until 7:00 pm at Albert V Demarco and Son Funeral Home, 737 Chenango Street, Port Dickenson, NY 13901. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be directed to your local animal shelter.
